Holiday Beauty Gift Ideas / Guide

Through the years of purchasing and trying out beauty products which I have liked and ended up discarding to bin or gave it to someone else I finally found a couple of products that actually works wonders and have been since considered my "beauty holy grail". Today I'd like to share my Holiday Beauty Gift Ideas for your girlfriends & family.

I'm going to start with this Ciaté nail polish in Hutch which is a glossy red and is a classic colour that is a perfect match of a little black dress for the upcoming Festive Season.

The GHD Limited Edition hair straightener in Vintage Pink is already on my Christmas wish list. I like styling my hair and I knew I needed to invest on a good quality hair styling tool that are less damaging and requires little time to heat up and therefore a year ago I decided to change my 3 years old HerStyler straightener with the  Gold Classic Styler. I must say I did liked the one from GHD because it heats up quite fast which allows me to straighten my thick hair in just about 15 minutes more or less. It's a great gift for someone who loves to style their hair since it's not only for straightening but you could also create soft curls with it.

I use heat on my hair about every other day and I also dye my hair every month so you can imagine the amount of process my hair undergoes on a daily basis therefore I'd like to use a hydrating or repairing hair mask twice a week to keep my hair soft and smooth. This Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask is a rich and creamy deep-conditioning hair mask which is great for medium to thick hair, dry hair works wonders in less than 5 minutes.

According to website this supplement is; "Specially formulated to help counteract the effects of both chronic and short-term stress, specially formulated choice of supplement for those with busy and demanding lifestyles." I have the Super Green Molecule and the Geek Molecule and I usually add a teaspoon of each in a glass of fresh juice every morning.

When I am not wearing my classic reds I like to switch with a clean and natural looking nail polishes so I usually wear my current favourite neutral or nude nail polish for a low key and polished look. This Ciaté x Olivia Palermo nail polish in Sundays is one of my must have nail polish this Autumn.

I have been using the Kérastase colour protect line for about half a year or so and have been so happy with how it kept my hair colour from fading quickly because of over washing and too much styling, I usually switch in between the Bain Chroma Captive shampoo with the Bain Chroma Riche whenever my hair starts to feel and look dry and use this Fondant Chromacaptive light conditioner which doesn't make the hair feel greasy or heavy after each washing.

My hair undergoes through a lot of heat from daily styling & blow drying. I like to protect my hair and prevents split ends by applying a dime size amount of this Kérastase Ciment Thermique heat protector before drying my hair and a little bit more before styling it for added extra protection.

After years of using liquid foundation, I finally decided to try mineral powder foundation because I don't like the feeling of "stickiness" or "greasiness" on my face especially on humid weather. I have heard and read great reviews about the brand Bareminerals and one day upon trying it on at Sephora I was really amazed how natural and pretty it looks when applied on my skin, I was originally going to buy just a normal sized mineral powder but I ended up purchasing the Get Started Complexion Kit - Medium (beige) since it is way cheaper buying the kit then starting with the full sized version not knowing wether I would end up using it or not. Gladly, not once have I regret purchasing the kit (which was on sale at the time) and have been happily using it for more than a year now. The kit includes Bareminerals Prime Time Original Primer, Original Foundation, Matte Foundation, Warmth All-Over Face Colour, Mineral Veil Finishing Powder and Flawless Application Face Brush.

So these are the beauty products that I have been using and have really made a huge difference on my day to day. I hope you like my recommendation and let me know in the comment below what you think or if you have tried these products in the past.

Thanksgiving Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving! It’s just a day after my birthday and although Thanksgiving may not be officially celebrated in Spain I’d like to take advantage of the moment and be thankful for some of the good things that happened this year, for being able to start something I always wanted to do, thankful for being able to spend good quality time with my family and friends, for having a simple birthday celebration and for the little things in life like having great weather all year round!

I must say I am once again another repeat offender for over wearing this dress in check by Jack Wills. I just love wearing dresses! I don’t think I could go for a week without wearing a dress especially when it’s still warm and sunny outside.I like to wear a gillet over a dress or maybe with a light cardigan then throw over a scarf on my neck and wear a pair of warm stockings (then a flats shoes) to keep me warm and still be able see the style of the dress even during the colder months. Jack Wills is one of my many favourite brands when it comes to dresses, I just love their style and the cut which only requires little or no alterations needed at all (for petite girls, I usually take a size 6 and alter to fit a size 4). I have another dress similar to this one which I wore here but in a much lighter fabric which was a great Summer dress to transition from day to night, they are also very similar in terms of style and comfort. I already have thisthis & this on my wish list, they are absolutely great pieces to wear from Autumn to Winter. Hugs!

Busiest Month

As one of my most busiest month ended, another starts (and almost halfway already!). November is my favourite month not only because it's my birth month but also Winter, Christmas Holidays is just around the corner. The days have gone just like that and I haven't yet fulfilled what I really wanted and needed to do this year and yet here I am getting all excited already about the future and it's surprises.

October has been a fun and busy month for me where I spent a whole month with my family, cooking  and eating traditional dishes from my country, spent almost every morning running by the beach as I took a (not so) long break from the blogging world. I really missed blogging even though it hasn't been that long since I last blogged and updated my site but it does make a difference when I am not in front of my laptop and working.

I felt quite uneasy and a bit stressed out that I was not able to finish my work and was way behind than expected. I have a couple of weeks more left before the holidays starts again and hopefully I could finished everything in time and also celebrate my first year as a blogger! I am happy for taking this path but I also have a lot of hits and misses this year but I must say that I have learned a lot of things with blogging and I just need to be more courageous, to stay positive and work harder to accomplish my goals (that's the spirit!) ;)

(Thank you Shein for sponsoring this post and sending me this skirt.)

Vintage Bicycle

Last weekend we went for a short trip to the Algarve in Portugal, which is a couple of hours drive from Marbella. We visited the Ilha do Farol and the Praia da Rocha which is one of the most amazing beach I have been to. The last time I have been to Praia da Rocha was 7 years ago silly because it's actually not very far from where we are staying everytime we are in the Algarve.

I can't believe how time flies and I haven't blogged during the month of October! This shoot was from the last day of summer and I am finally able to finish editing the pictures post it.

The last few days have been quite cold and rainy so we stayed just around Marbella, cooking and baking with my mom and auntie. They came to visit so we have been out a lot showing around places  or maybe going for walks by the beach and mostly spending quality time together. I only see them several times a year so I like to spend as much time with them. They are now on their last week of stay so I'm probably not going to be around much for the next few days. See you for now, hugs
