On our second day in Venice, it was finally warm and sunny! We walked from our hotel in Ca' d'Oro to Piazza San Marco. It took us a while to get to our destination (we were a little too busy looking at what's around us) stopping once in  a quickly go in and out of the shops, admiring the little corners of Venice and the gondolas passing by  wishing we had the time to ride on one. It was actually closer than we expected but took us about half an hour to get there, we did have a map but then decided to follow the crowd who were going to same place. Venice was literally packed, even without cars on land there were traffic from amount of tourists they have.

When we arrived in Piazza San Marco, we had a quick look around us.. but looking at the queue, it would be impossible to go inside. At least we had a great view of St Mark's Basilica from the outside and looking at the pictures right now, I'm sure it would have been an  amazing experience if we have gotten the chance to go inside. I have always been fascinated by history & art and learning about places I have never been before. Before our trip I watched few documentaries about the history of Venice, how they managed to build an entire city on top of the water and build huge buildings.. quite remarkable. On our way back we took the ferry to go back to our hotel but we ended up getting off by Rialto for a quick gelato and went walking instead. Since we didn't have a chance to have lunch we had an early dinner instead and again enjoyed a great plate of pasta again. Enjoy the weekend!
